What Happened to You Is Not the End of Your Story.

Were You Dropped?

A Journey of Healing, Identity, and Restoration at the King’s Table

By Roxene Dunn Barrett · Publication Date: September 1, 2026

Full book jacket for Were You Dropped? by Roxene Dunn Barrett, featuring a family walking toward a sunrise at the King’s Table.

Were You Dropped? is a biblical journey of healing, identity, and restoration for anyone who has carried the wounds of rejection, abandonment, abuse, loss, or feeling forgotten.

Some wounds do more than hurt. They begin to tell you who you are. They whisper that you were unwanted, overlooked, too damaged, or beyond restoration. This book challenges those lies with the truth of God’s Word and invites you to return to the place pain tried to steal from you: your identity, your voice, your hope, and your seat at the King’s Table.

Have You Ever Wondered Whether You Were Dropped, or Never Picked Up at All?

There are experiences that leave you questioning more than what happened. They make you question your worth, your place, and whether you were ever truly seen. You may have learned how to keep functioning while carrying pain no one recognized. You may have smiled, served, prayed, and kept moving, while a quieter part of you still wondered whether healing was possible.

Were You Dropped? was written for that part of you. It does not minimize your pain, rush your process, or offer empty promises. It walks honestly through the wounds that shape identity and points you toward the God who still sees, still calls, and still restores.

You Are Not What Happened to You.

Through biblical teaching, personal testimony, reflection, and compassionate guidance, Roxene Dunn Barrett helps readers confront the messages trauma leaves behind and replace them with the truth of who they are in Christ.

Readers Will Be Encouraged To:

  • Recognize how rejection, abandonment, abuse, and loss can distort identity.
  • Separate what happened to them from who God says they are.
  • Release shame and false labels that have shaped their thinking.
  • Understand healing as a process rather than a test of faith.
  • Make room for forgiveness without denying the truth of what occurred.
  • Reclaim their place, voice, dignity, and purpose in Christ.
  • Believe that restoration is still possible.

You are not broken beyond repair. You are being restored.
